Impact of technology in education, our expectations on the course 


Technology nowadays is a big part of our routine. We work, learn, entertain, spend free time, find information and also educate ourselves in multiple fields. The impact of technology in every aspect of life is expanding every day and it is becoming a inseparable part of our lives. 

As a student l have gone through different stages when it comes to technology. At first, in my secondary school, my friends and l had never had the opportunity to work with a computer because at the time computers weren't very common and not every school had them. All of us would stare in awe when a teacher would do a PowerPoint presentation. Then, l went to high school where l found myself thrown into having to do everything with a computer, which l remember it was really hard for some of my classmates to adjust to. I on the other hand found myself amazed by the things l could do with a computer especially being in school and having lots of books to read and assignments to prepare. l found out that l could just download the books and read them whenever l wanted. If l wanted extra information on a topic discussed in a class where l didn't pay much attention, all l had to do was google the topic and l would get tons of information. If l needed to prepare a project for a history class, creating presentations in Prezi or PowerPoint would not only attract everyone's attention but would also make them so much fun to prepare. Learning new methods through technology and how to do things seemed never tiring to me. That is when l first realized that technology in education is a very helpful tool for creating and working through different projects and making your ideas come true.  

Now l have a totally different view on the impact of technology in education. Now l know that this is not just about downloading and reading a book, but so much more. For example, with the COVID virus, we are able to get an education through technology even though we are not allowed to go in our faculty. Imagine how many generations of children would not be able to get an education if this happened years ago, when technology was not as developed. l think we are lucky to be taking this class and learning how to make technology serve us for the good of humanity.

In your work are valid arguments about technology regarding teaching and you are absolutely right when you say that if we would be caught by the pandemic years ago it would have caused an enormous damage in education of a whole generation. As young teachers what l believe worries us the most is not having generally a pleasant experience when in a classroom with our students, meaning a lesson not being explained by the teacher and understood by students, class discussions not to be present and overall to have a negative environment and make students feel unsafe. Such a nightmare! Apps and programs used to create a project

I was thinking the other day, since the finals are just around the corner, about my final project and also about different programs you can use when wanting to make your project as nice as possible.  That is the reason why l am going to write on this blog about my friends suggestions on apps and programs that can help us when working on projects and that l found very helpful.  First l am going to talk about my friend's research on this alternative app for Zunal.com which was running so slow and l couldn't open it on my browser. The program l am talking about is BookWidget , Meglina introduced our teacher with it and it works like a charm. With it you can make 40 different types of exercises which can be small exercises or to a full textbook.
