Final report

As we are going towards the end we have a major assignment to complete which is going to also be part of our final evaluation and it holds a great deal of importance.  I finished my draft report and l am ready to share it with my friend Irda, l am so thankful to have finished it in time and also to have shared the experience of correcting one of my friend's work. In my report l included a part before the actual report where l talk in general what l have included in the report below, so that everything was understood perfectly. Assigning the report as a final assignment was a great idea as it gives us a general overview of the subject in general. I think by doing this our teacher is trying to teach us one last thing that is how to evaluate our students in the future. Again, l have never evaluated anything before, no paper, no assignment whatsoever so l am looking forward to this.  After finishing the draft report and correcting our friends work, we are supposed to submit also a...

What to do and what not to do in your classroom as a new teacher

I was thinking lately, since l had an opportunity to be a teacher for one hour...well thirty minutes to be exact...figuring what to do and what not to do in a classroom as a new teacher.  Always every beginning is hard, trying to adjust to the feeling of being in charge and having other people depend on you seems scary and terrifying at the same time that's why l came up with some ideas on what to do and not to do in your classroom.  First of all , you should not be friends with your students. Yes you can try to have a friendly conversation when you have a five minute break or when not teaching but not when in class or in the middle of the lesson. If you do it just one time your students are going to want to do it again and skip lesson and not focus on important things. Remember that you are there to give and spread knowledge not make them laugh.  Secondly , explaining for hours and being the one who talks all the time is not good either, let your students talk too. Invit...

Free topic

This week l have decided to talk about the difficulties l encountered when preparing my presentation for my final project since l finished last week with presenting it and now l feel like l can review on it, since all the nervousness is gone.  So first of all what worried me the most was the time, we had thirty minutes available and what l had planned seemed to need so much more time than that. Me and Shpetim did what we could to put together everything we had planned for our class in 30 minutes. It worked well.  Another thing that worried me was myself, sometimes when l talk l get very nervous and mess up everything l have planned perfectly in my head and l make such a huge mess that is very hard to fix. This time though, that didn't happen and l was very thankful for that.  Also l recall being absolutely terrified by the fact that l have to make my classmates listen to me for thirty minutes and have them play along with me to have a very nice class experience. It actual...

Technology in EFL classes

For this week's post l have decided to take a look back at all the work we have been doing so far in these classes. Overall it has been a fun and challenging experience like no other l would say. We have worked alone and in groups, we helped each other and also learned so much from each other, which in my opinion is the best experience.  First of all, we were introduced to this amazing app, Blogger. It is a wonderful way to interact with your teachers and classmates at the same time but also a way to express opinions and get feedback from them. Also we learned how to be very responsible by this class cause we had a frequent homework, posting every week on the blog and also commenting on our friend's posts and express our opinions. Moreover, we learned how to create and share with our students in the future a bunch of exercises by using this tool called Hot Potato, l personally can not wait to use this one in the future. It is so helpful and super easy to use and it gives you ...

Apps and programs used to create a project

I was thinking the other day, since the finals are just around the corner, about my final project and also about different programs you can use when wanting to make your project as nice as possible.  That is the reason why l am going to write on this blog about my friends suggestions on apps and programs that can help us when working on projects and that l found very helpful.  First l am going to talk about my friend's research on this alternative app for Zunal.com which was running so slow and l couldn't open it on my browser. The program l am talking about is BookWidget , Meglina introduced our teacher with it and it works like a charm. With it you can make 40 different types of exercises which can be small exercises or to a full textbook. You can grade students work and hand it back to them with a click, it is absolutely perfect for teachers.  Klesta and Irda also made a very detailed blog post on how to use the program so after reading their post when l went to work ...

Technology tools

Whenever l hear someone say project l immediately think of technology and  presentations, in my opinion nowadays it comes all as a package. Technology is becoming a big part of our everyday life in our work, school, leisure time and as a result everything is evolving around it and so is teaching.  In this blog l am going to talk about the technology tools that are important for my students to use in the future and that will best will enhance their project work and presentations.  First of all l am going to talk about Trello  this is a free and super easy to use tool for students, especially when working in groups. Multiple students can be added to the same board and they can collaborate for an assigned project, team work is easy to get accomplished with this one. Also here you can create workflow charts very easily.  Next l want to tell you about Cold Turkey . Students might not love this one but it's particularly important for teachers. It is a tool that allows...
